The Dairy Restaurant Clapham Old Town Weekend Brunch Menu

Homeboy and I popped in for weekend brunch while I was investigating the area for an article. We thought the brunch menu was very good and would definitely go back again … soon! The focus is on quality ingredients and British cooking with some European influences.

We shared the BBQ Pork, Spring Cabbage, Fried Egg and Crispy Potato dish. As we are vegetarians, we requested that the Pork was omitted. This dish was particularly tasty, I loved the Crispy Potatoes which looked as though slithers of potatoes had been fused together and fried. I wish there were more of those on the plate, not that they were stingy but because I just wanted more! I should have ordered a side of these.

The other dish we divided between us was the Heirloom Tomatoes, Butterbean Houmous, Rooftop Herbs on Toasted Sourdough. This was totally delicious, loved the rustic Houmous, which was a nice change from the norm. The tomatoes were amazing, fresh and full of flavour. You could really taste the herbs which made this dish special.

Other options included Avocado on Toast with Home-Made Nduja and Poached Egg. Smokehouse Salmon with Soda Bread, Pickles and Soft-Boiled Egg. They also served Toasted Granola with Seasonal Fruits and Neal’s Yard Yoghurt. If you just fancied a small bite with coffee, you can order a Darby’s Croissant or Pain Au Chocolat. Prices range from £9-11 for cooked breakfasts, granola is £6.50, and croissants are £2.75-3.

If it’s a sunny day you might be lucky enough to get a table outside on the pavement. Alternatively try to perch on one of the high stools on a table near the front. Towards the back you have more formal tables and chairs. The interiors are rustic with bare brick walls and unpainted raw plaster. It’s a small space with a homely feel.
