The Garrison Public House Bermondsey Breakfast Menu

Homeboy and I have eaten breakfast here a few times now, and it’s always excellent. They use fresh, locally sourced ingredients, so the menu is likely to change with the seasons. The breakfast menu features light and healthy options including Homemade Porridge with banana, honey and a scattering of toasted pumpkin seeds. The Banana Bread with honeycomb butter is delicious. If you want to be good, choose the Granola with yoghurt, berries and honey.

Vegetarian Breakfast

We shared the Full Vegetarian English, which is one of the best veggie breakfasts I’ve eaten in London. You get mashed avocado, crispy fried kale, grilled halloumi, Portobello mushroom, spring onions and eggs cooked to your liking. With a couple of pieces of toast, you will be very content. They also have a meaty version of this with Cumberland sausages, black pudding and everything else you would want. The Eggs Florentine is also top-notch (which we also shared), the hollandaise sauce is perfect, and the muffins lovely and fluffy. Eggs Royale, Eggs Benedict and Avocado on Toast with poached egg are also available.

Eggs Florentine

Drinks include coffee, tea, house soda and a couple of juices. Prices for light and healthy dishes are £6 and cooked egg plates £8.50-15. On Saturday you can enjoy a bottomless brunch – two courses for £33 or three for £38 with unlimited prosecco, Bellini or mimosa. Brunch starters include salads, soups and for mains, you can select egg dishes, buttermilk pancakes, burgers, fish and chips and possibly a rich macaroni and cheese. Desserts will be along the lines of a brownie or cheese with soda bread.

The Garrison Public House Bermondsey Street Interiors

The Garrison Pub

The décor is shabby chic with distressed painted mismatched furniture, wooden floorboards and floral Victorian lampshades. There is plenty of light inside thanks to the corner plot and large windows. There are a few booths towards the back of the dining area, but these are quite tight, not ideal if you are pregnant. Downstairs is a room for private dining which can also be used as a cinema.
