“Meet up with friends for lunch or wind down after work with colleagues at this spectacular food hall in Canary Wharf where you can sample some of the best street food in London,” Homegirl London.
Canary Wharf Market Hall Kitchens
Eight kitchens serve a selection of food catering to different tastes. I’ll give you an overview of what to expect, but I suggest you check online before you visit, as the line-up may change.
1. Gopal’s Corner by Roti King is my favourite, thanks to their emphasis on Malaysian food. Everything is good, especially the banana leaf platters, we tried the vegan special, but other options include chicken masala, beef rendang and fried fish. Roti with sambar, chicken or mutton is another excellent choice.
2. Baoziinn is all about Northern Chinese street food, emphasising Cantonese dim sum and dumplings, noodle dishes and more. They specialise in traditional jiaozi dumplings – pork, chicken, prawn and vegetable options and noodles with minced pork. We tried the vegan dim sum platter, which is excellent.
3. Le Bab is the place for modern gourmet Kebabs reflecting Levantine cuisines using ethical and sustainable ingredients. Kebabs include fried chicken shish, 15-hour pork ribeye shawarma and the legendary paneer kebab.
4. Inamo Sukoshi features sushi and Asian fusion street food. You’ll find chicken karaage with fries, dragon rolls and maki rolls on the menu.
5. DF Tacos serve tacos with tasty fillings such as buttermilk chicken, plantain or pork pibil. Don’t forget to order your dinky churros with chocolate dipping sauce.
6. Chick Chick Crew has a selection of chicken burgers ranging from BBQ to buffalo and Korean. The sides include grilled chicken salad, kimchi, tater tots and fries. Another option is chicken wings in honey soy, BBQ, Korean or buffalo sauce.
7. Pasta Evangelists allows you to pick your fresh pasta and pair it with your favourite sauce. You have plenty of options with six kinds of pasta and eight sauces.
8. Black Bear Burger will open soon. They promise to feed you the best grass-fed, dry-aged British beef in your burger.
