Ten Best Things To Do In Fulham List
1. Explore historic Fulham Palace, Bishop’s Avenue, London SW6 6EA. Step inside Fulham Palace to discover centuries of local history at the former home of the Bishops of London. Explore the museum and historic rooms, then head outside to wander the beautiful botanic garden and peaceful grounds. Admission is free, and the Drawing Room Café is also open if you fancy coffee, cake, or lunch. One thing to mention is that the Palace acknowledges its historical connections with colonialism and the transatlantic slave trade.
2. Enjoy some time in Bishops Park. Combine your Fulham Palace visit with a wander through neighbouring Bishops Park, set beside the River Thames. There’s plenty of space to stroll or sit and relax, plus tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, table tennis, a skate bowl, and a seasonal splash pad. You can also join the Thames Path here and continue your explorations beside the river.
3. Walk beside the River Thames. One of my favourite ways to experience Fulham is with a walk along the Thames Path. Start around Bishops Park and follow the river towards Craven Cottage and Fulham Pier. It’s a relaxing contrast to the busier shopping streets and offers lovely views along the way.
4. See Fulham FC’s Craven Cottage, Stevenage Road, London SW6 6HH. Football is an important part of Fulham life, and Fulham FC’s historic home sits in an enviable spot beside the River Thames. You’ll pass Craven Cottage while walking along this stretch of the river, even if you aren’t attending a match. Football fans can also book a stadium tour for a closer look at this characterful London ground.
5. Eat and drink at Fulham Pier, London SW6 6HH. Beside Craven Cottage, Fulham Pier has given this part of the riverside a new place to eat, drink and socialise. Riverside Market brings together a selection of food and drink traders, while you’ll find restaurants, bars and entertainment spaces elsewhere within the development. Pick up something tasty and enjoy some time by the Thames.
6. Pick up pastries at Ta’mini Bakery, 801 Fulham Road, London SW6 5HE. Stop at this independent family-run Lebanese bakery when you’re ready for a bite to eat. I can recommend Ta’mini for its savoury pastries and flatbreads, making it a great option for a quick lunch while exploring Fulham. They specialise in Lebanese manakish, ka’ak and mezze.
7. Browse Fulham’s lovely interior stores. Fulham is a brilliant place to look for home inspiration, particularly along Fulham Road and around Parsons Green. You’ll find everything from furniture and sofas to kitchens, bathrooms, paint, and decorative accessories. OneWorld, Darlings of Chelsea, and Abode by Bayley & Sage are a few stores worth seeking out.
8. Shop for gifts at Indian Summer, 624C Fulham Road, London SW6 5RS. Pop into this independent lifestyle boutique to browse its colourful collection of clothing, jewellery, accessories, gifts, and homeware. It’s the sort of shop where you can happily mooch around and perhaps find something lovely for yourself or a present for someone else.
9. Dine at The Harwood Arms, Walham Grove, London SW6 1QJ. For a memorable meal in Fulham, book a table at The Harwood Arms. This Michelin-starred gastropub champions British produce, with a particular focus on game and wild food, while still retaining the welcoming feel of a neighbourhood pub. It’s a lovely choice when you want dinner to feel a little more special.
10. Experience village life in Parsons Green. Make time for Parsons Green, one of Fulham’s prettiest pockets, centred around its small triangular green. Wander along Parsons Green Lane and New Kings Road to discover local cafés, restaurants, pubs and shops, or simply find a bench on the green and enjoy the laid-back surroundings.
